The Greater Joliet Area YMCA held its 10th Annual Giving Gala at the Bolingbrook Golf Club on Saturday February 25th. WRDR’s manager, Christy Ely, and her husband, Eric, attended the black tie event. During dinner, they enjoyed conversation with Board members, Mr. Nick Macris and his family and Mrs. Beth Laken and her husband, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kelly. Also amongst the crowd was Mr. and Mrs. Mike Noonan. Eric and Christy were gladdened when their dear friend Ms. Stephanie Kessler and her friends of Illinois Valley Industries, Inc. were part of the video presentation and welcomed as special guests at the Gala. Eric and Christy brought home a silent auction package to their 10 yr old daughter who is an active member at the YMCA Morris branch titled “Fun Times With the Family”.
The Greater Joliet Area YMCA has been serving families—regardless of age, income or background—from throughout Will County and its surrounding areas since 1928. A mainstay in the Joliet community for more than 85 years, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health, and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests.
