WRDR Attends The Hugs & Wishes Chocolate Ball 2017

Shorewood Hugs hosted its 8th Annual Hugs & Wishes Chocolate Ball on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Clarion Hotel in Joliet.  Wermer, Rogers, Doran & Ruzon, LLC was a Wishes Tree Sponsor.  The emcees for the evening were Lynne Lichtenauer  and WRDR’s Mary Lancaster and Natalie Manley.  The theme of this year’s event was “The Streets of Paris”.  Proceeds benefit the “Hugs & Wishes Program”, which helps those in our community who may need assistance, may be disabled, are struggling through a difficult time, or need a special hug!

19th Annual Joliet Chamber Holiday Reception

WRDR had a great time at the 19th Annual Holiday Member Reception on the evening of December 8, 2016 which was co-hosted by The Jacob Henry Mansion Estate and The Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  Donations of canned goods and non-perishable items were collected and distributed to the needy.

 

Downtown Joliet 2016 Light Up The Holidays

On Friday, November 25, Downtown Joliet hosted the Light Up the Holidays Festival and Parade. Various activities took place throughout the day. The tree lighting was held at Van Buren Plaza followed by the Holiday Parade. WRDR was featured on a parade balloon. David Meyer volunteered his services of lining-up parade entries and then joined his family to watch the parade and fireworks. Katie Napier and her family also enjoyed watching the parade and fireworks.

On Sunday, November 27, Christy Ely and her daughter, Addy, attended the Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet “The Nutcracker” at the Rialto Square Theatre downtown Joliet. The ballet is performed annually and this was Christy and Addy’s third year attending. Every year Addy enjoys picking out a “nutcracker” and writing the year on the bottom of it to create a collection of mother/daughter memories! 2016 Cornerstone Champagne Luncheon

Mary Lancaster and Natalie Manley of WRDR wore their aprons, poured champagne and performed at Cornerstone Services’ 26th Annual Champagne Luncheon on Wednesday, November 23 at the Patrick C. Haley Mansion in Joliet from noon to 2 pm.  Partners and staff of WRDR indulged in the delicious lunch and unlimited champagne.  There was much laughter as some of the biggest names in town took the stage.  Mary and Natalie along with Lynne Lichtenauer vocally performed “Three Blind Mice” and moved to the beat of “the Macarena”. All proceeds raised benefited Cornerstone Services which helps people with disabilities to live and work in the community as independently as possible. 2016 Cornerstone Champagne Luncheon
